Monday Mini – Brink of Dawn by Jeff Altabef & Erynn Altabef @jeffaltabef

Chosen: Brink of Dawn (Young Adult Fantasy Thriller) - Jeff Altabef, Erynn Altabef, Lane Diamond, Whitney Smyth

I picked up the first book, Wind Catcher on an Amazon free day, so I was very excited when I won a signed paperback of Brink of Dawn, Book II by Jeff & Erynn altabef.

Wind Catcher has won several awards and I am curious to see about this one.

There are two covers. Look below, after reading my review, and tell us which you like best.

Brink of Dawn (Chosen #2)

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

I was excited to have won a paperback copy of Brink of Dawn by Jeff Altabef, after reading the first book in the Chosen series, Wind Catcher. The series is a fantastic teen and young adult fantasy and science fiction read. Brink of Dawn picks up where Wind Catcher left off, but it can stand alone.

Juliet Wildfire Stone lives up to her name. She has powers:  hears peoples thoughts and reads their emotions, possess animals, super strength and speed, telekinesis, heals instantly…a regular superhero. She has a destiny and knows there are others out there, like her. There is more than Earth at stake and I am so happy that she has her BFF Tony at her side.

This series turned out to be a surprise. It is more than what I was expecting. A group of youngsters out to save th world. Action, danger. They are the chosen and then there’s Troy. They will fight as a team and only death will stop them. The characters grow, develop, and become a family as they fight the good fight .

Surprise and thrills and all the young adult goodness makes this a series that kept me reading and entertained and I do want more…there is a Book III, Scorched Souls.

GOODREADS BLURB

Follow-up to the multiple award-winning Wind Catcher

They walk among us as if they are gods.
Only the Chosen know what they are.
Only the Chosen know to fear them.
And only the Chosen can defeat them.

Evolved Publishing presents the second book in the multiple award-winning Chosen series of young adult mystery thrillers, which feature an American Indian fantasy and supernatural theme, from the same author who brought you the award-winning thriller Shatter Point, and his daughter.

Juliet Wildfire Stone and her best friend, Troy Buckhorn, barely escaped their sleepy Arizona town alive. Now they’re speeding to New York City to find the three other Chosen. The Chosen must band together to face an ancient foe that threatens all humanity.

Yet Juliet doesn’t know whom to trust, and strange things are happening in the City.

The Chosen will be tested, their resolve questioned, and their flaws exposed. Each must decide whether he or she will fulfill their destiny—or run. To defeat the enemy, they must stop battling among themselves and overcome their own struggles.

Only one can lead them. Will Juliet embrace her powers in time?

Brink of Dawn picks up where the multiple-award-winning first book in the Chosen series, Wind Catcher, left off, but it can also be read as a stand-alone novel. Continue the adventure! And be sure to watch for the third and final installment in this exciting series, Scorched Souls, to launch in late 2016.

Thrills Abound in A Secret to the Grave by Jane Blythe @jblytheauthor

A Secret to the Grave (Detective Parker Bell Book 1) - Jane Blythe

Jane Blythe is a suspense/thriller writer that is on my must read list. I eagerly anticipate each book I receive from  her and she has never failed me. I am beginning her Detective Parker Bell series and know I am going to have many hours of thrills and chills.

So….let’s begin.

Cover by QDesign

A Secret To The Grave (Detective Parker Bell #1)

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Beware! Once I started, I couldn’t stop and I recommend locking your doors and turning off your phone before beginning.

Just looking at the cover for A Secret to the Grave has chills running up and down my spine, as I rub by hands together with glee, eager to dive into another series by Jane Blythe.

Detective Parker Bell and his friend and partner, Detective Skylar Wyatt are on the case and it will not be easy to unravel the who, what and why. The kidnapper has taken his first victim and left rules to the game he wants to play. Follow the clues and save some faceless women and Jane will die. Do nothing, let the women die, and Jane will live. What do you think?

The first brutal, savage, grotesque murder creates a sense of urgency for all of them…and me.

Parker struggles with his past, nightmares making sleep something to be avoided, but nine women’s lives are at stake and they are counting on him and his cohorts to save them. So, buck up. The clock is ticking…

I can hardly wait to see where Jane Blythe will take me to next. I want dark, gritty, truly terrifying suspense and death and there is no short supply of it here.

Jane Blythe kept me guessing the why of it. I love that. The women are geniuses that have their own nightmares and I keep wondering why they don’t fight back.  No matter what the maniac does to them, the women keep the secret he so desperately wants to know. Why are they willing to go peacefully (?) into that good night? They are damaged goods and I wonder, how far will they let this go before someone decides enough is enough. I love the twists and turns Jane has created. I am curious…so very curious about the secret, the real mystery.

I sure do hope curiosity doesn’t get this cat. LOL

Romance? Oh yeah…and she fights it every step of the way. Both Parker and Tessa had a hard life and remain aloof in the love department, though they have cherished friends.

The fire alarm went off at the police station, my heart began to beat faster.

A shot rings out…Oh, please, please, please, don’t let it be her.

The slow, agonizing suspense in this riveting, action packed thriller made ME want to go after HIM myself. I wanted to scream at Parker, HURRY, HURRY!!!!!

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of A Secret to the Grave by Jane Blythe.

Monday Mini Review – Wind Catcher by Jeff & Erynn Altabef @jeffaltabef

Wind Catcher - Jeff Altabef, Erynn Altabef

Windcatcher, Chosen #1, by Jeff & Erynn Altabef has more to offer than a beautiful cover.

Speaking of covers, what do you think? Does it make you want to check it out and learn more?

Cover:  Mallory Rock

Wind Catcher (Chosen, #1)

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

I got Wind Catcher by Jeff & Erynn Altabef, as an Amazon freebie back in October of 2016, but it got lost in the shuffle. Then…I won a signed paperback copy of book two, Brink of Death, so I pulled it out, dusted it off, and wondered why in the hell I waited so long to read it.

Juliet Stone is special, but she doesn’t know it. I love her feistiness and loyalty. She sticks up for her friends, even if it comes to blows. You definitely need to watch out for the badass ladies in Wind Catcher.

“You’re special Juliet. You’ve been chosen.”

What seemed to be a typical young adult story. You know, a ‘warrior’ girl fighting the big bad evil, has a twist with Native American mysticism that adds an extra bit of goodness for me and the battle with the Seeker tops it off.

I went straight to Brink of Death, Chosen #2, by Jeff and Erynn Altabef.

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos  4 Stars

GOODREADS BLURB

Lies.
Betrayal.
Destiny.
A choice that changes everything.

My name is Juliet Wildfire Stone, and I am special. I see visions and hear voices, and I have no idea what they mean.

When someone murders medicine men in my sleepy Arizona town, I can’t help but worry my crazy grandfather is involved. He’s a medicine man and more than a just a little eccentric. He likes to tell me stories about the Great Wind Spirit and Coyote, but none of it makes any sense. I thought I knew the truth, but in order to clear his name I dive into his alien world and uncover an ancient secret society formed over two hundred years ago to keep me safe—me! And I can’t help but to start to wonder whether there’s some truth to those old stories my grandfather has been telling me.

I just want to be an average sixteen-year-old girl, but apparently I’ve never been average. Could never be average. I didn’t know it before, but I’m a Chosen, and those voices I’ve been hearing… well, they’re not just “voices.” I’ve started to develop abilities, but they might not be enough. A powerful entity called a Seeker is hunting me and he’s close—really close.

I thought I knew the answers but truth is, I don’t. Betrayed by those I love, I must choose to run or risk everything in order to fulfill my destiny. I hope I make the right choice. Don’t you?

Review – Gypsy Blood by Jeff Gunhus @Jeffgunhus @XpressoReads

Gypsy Blood - Jeff Gunhus

Gypsy Blood
Jeff Gunhus
Publication date: May 1st 2018
Genres: Adult, Horror

MY REVIEW

I love the creepy cover for Gypsy Blood and Jeff Gunhus writes some great stories, so I am eager to begin reading.

Corbin is sitting at a cafe minding his own business, suffering writers block and trying to come up with something, when in walks a dame. Sounds cliche, but Margo is not just any dame.

The death of the old man brings about strange happenings, strange men, and danger with a capital D, which will dog his every step.

I think I know what will happen, but Jeff doesn’t make it so simple. This is so not what I was expecting and I do love surprises when it comes to my reading material.

Evil oozes off the pages and I wonder if they will make it out alive and in what shape they will be in, if they do. Corbin and Margo must work together, though neither trusts the other.

I thought Stephen King writes great stories of raising the dead, but he has nothing on Jeff Gunhus in Gypsy Blood and if you are a horror lover, like I am, this is one book and author you will want on your reading list.

On The Dark Side – Fated by Donna Augustine @donnaugustine

Fated - Donna Augustine

Fated by Donna Augustine is the third book in the Karma series and the more I read, the more engrossed I become in Karma’s world. This is my favorite one and it left me breathless

Fated (Karma, #3)

Amazon  /  Audible  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Fated by Donna Augustine is the third book in the Karma series, and the more I read, the more I am loving it.

Things are changing and not all of them are for the better.

Are people all good or all bad? What about the gray area in between the black and white?

Is an apocalypse coming? Can they stop it? Are they even supposed to?

The Jinxes saved her and now they have become her posse. She will need them. They bop around on skateboards and act like a bunch of teenagers. We all know they are not. Who knows how old they are?

I love the humorous writing mixed in with the seriousness.

Karma even meets the Gods.

Another god having a temper tantrum in less than a week? I’d either been created at a bad time or these folks needed some anger management classes.

The fight against good and evil rages on, but the romantic love story traverses time. Plenty of sexual tension, spice and heat as Karma struggles to come to terms with a love that will not, cannot be denied.

AND THAT FRIGGIN’ ENDING. OMG! It almost had me in tears and I was blown away by such a surprisingly fabulous ending. That makes this over the top and a five star read for sure. I am so invested in this series, I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait for Dead Ink, Lar’s Story. I recommend the series be read in order.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT.

Saving The Snow Leopards in The Killing Game by Toni Anderson @ toniannanderson

The Killing Game - Toni Anderson

I love the cover below for The Killing Game by Toni Anderson. I have seen a lot of covers done by Demonza and they do a great job!

The Killing Game

Amazon Goodreads

MONDAY MINI REVIEW

I love thriller/suspense novels and Toni Anderson is a must read author for me…then add a wildlife biologist wanting to save the snow leopards…YAY!

What do a British SAS agent, a wildlife biologist and a Russian terrorist have in common? Snow leopards. One wants to save them, one wants to kill them, and the other is caught in the middle.

I love everything about the book, The characters, both good and bad, they all have their part to play. The location and the objective, who wouldn’t want to travel to Afghanistan on a mission to save something as beautiful and endangered as the snow leopard?

Toni Anderson writes some fantastic tales filled with danger, and this is another one I am happy to have traveled through. Keep up the great work and “I’ll be back” for more!

GOODREADS BLURB

Wildlife biologist Axelle Dehn isn’t about to let anyone harm her endangered snow leopards—not the poacher intent on killing them, nor the soldier who wants to use them as bait. British SAS soldier, Ty Dempsey, is on a mission to hunt down an infamous Russian terrorist in a remote region of Afghanistan. Dempsey hasn’t failed a mission yet, but when Axelle is kidnapped by the Russian, he is forced to choose between duty and his heart. New Release Review – The Secret of the Lost Pharaoh by Carolyn Arnold @Carolyn_Arnold

The Secret of the Lost Pharaoh - Carolyn Arnold

The Secret of the Lost Pharaoh

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

It seems books with an Egypt locale have been dropping into my reading list and The Secret of the Lost Pharaoh by Carolyn Arnold is the latest one. I feel I am right there with Alex as she begins her descent…

Secrets surround the Lost Pharaoh’s tomb and she is determined to protect it.

What she found was so much more than she expected and she felt that Matthew Connor, her Indiana Jones, would be the perfect person to have at her side.

Matthew hops on a plane out of Alaska, swings by Toronto, Canada, to pick up his posse, and it’s off to Egypt and another treasure hunting adventure.

I am glad to be back with Matthew, Robyn, who works as the curator at the Royal Ontario Museum, and Cal who is a world class photographer.

We will have some sexual tension and a bit of goo goo eye romance. I’m not sure what’s what and I don’t think they do either, so it should be interesting. Matthew is a bit of a dufus. Can’t see what’s right in front of him. Oh well, I think we will have plenty of time, even if it’s in future books, for him to wake up.

Underground…oh man…I can handle larger spaces for a short period of time with easy exits, but being lowered into a welllike hole, a cavein, rolling down the river with tons of earth your sky, entombed snakes (yep, we have to have snakes)…They are hanging on, tamping down their fear. Could I? NOPE!!!!

When they went to the airport, I thought, hmmm…something has got to happen…and it did.

The twists and turns, action and adventure, mystery and suspense, kept me on my toes. I thought this would happen, then it didn’t. I thought that would happen, then it didn’t. Carolyn Arnold does a good job of leading me down a familiar path, then jerking the rug out from under me. Think it’s over, oh no, not by a long shot.

What Is Your Meaning of Success – Climbing Maya by Ken La Salle @KenLaSalle

Climbing Maya - Ken La Salle

Climbing Maya

Amazon  /  Audible  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Ego can be one of our biggest downfalls, or at least it is for Ken.

In our youth, we feel all things are possible. Who do we end up disappointed? Do we expect too much? Some people accept the world as it is, others fight to change it. Some people go through life with a smile, others a frown. Which are you?

Some people turn to religion, philosophy, health and exercise. Whatever regimen allows us to cope.

What is success? It means something different to each of us. Does it take a major event… divorce, loss of a job…to make us reassess ourselves? Denial doesn’t stop things from happening and challenging your boss won’t save your job.

I wondered about the title…Climbing Maya..and it is one man’s search for success. Why do people climb mountains? Is there only one answer? My mind is spinning, yet I have my answer…am I content with my life? Yes. I have many of the things I dreamt of and more. I am content and happy to be able to do the things I love in life and have someone to share them with.

I can relate to Vicky and her ‘support’ of her man. She sounds a lot like me. And…yo dude…I am glad you figured it out and moved on.

One man’s journey for the meaning of success opens his eyes to what is truly valuable and meaningful in his world and isn’t that how it should be?

Climbing Maya by Ken La Salle is a thought provoking book that may keep you up at night as you ponder what is your meaning to success.

A Curse and A Mystery – The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts by K C Tansley @KourHei

The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts (The Unbelievables Book #1) - K.C. Tansley

The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts by K C Tansley has been on my TBR shelf since 2015, so I was very excited when I got the chance to review it, and Book II, The Girl Who Saved Ghosts, in The Unbelievables series.

Cover:  Creative Paramita

The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts (The Unbelievables, #1)

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Mystery and intrigue, love and magic. Will she lose herself before she finds the answers that could save them all? Kat Preston will have to travel back in time to find out.

To save herself, Kat Preston had to become an Unbeliever. Now, in college, she surrounds herself with others, including her best friend, Morgan, who helps keep the ghosts at bay.

The Unbelievers makes me think of Ghost Whisperer. I watched the TV show all the time, and can sometimes catch reruns even today.

These ghosts call themselves the Unbelievables. Good ones. Bad ones. And all those in between.

Kat and her friends are going to Castle Creighton for a school research project. She is worried because it’s like stepping out of the frying pan and into the fire. They will be researching the murder and curse in the Radcliffe family.

I was quickly caught up in this ghostly mystery. The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts has all you need for a great ghost story, a castle, a curse, some romance and possession, travel to the past, and danger and intrigue. There are many suspects and the mystery was harder to solve that I thought it would be.

Echoes from the Past – Answers for Julie by Cate Beauman @CateBeauman

Answers For Julie: Book Nine In The Bodyguards Of L.A. County Series - Cate Beauman

Cate Beauman writes some of the best suspense thrillers I have read and The Bodyguards of LA Country is a series that has kept me entertained for many hours.

Answers for Jule is a perfect example of why I like prologues. How about you?

She also has some pretty fantastic covers, so be sure and check them out.

Great cover job Demonza!

Answers For Julie (The Bodyguards of L.A. County, #9)

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Answers For Julie by Cate Beauman hooked me from the very beginning. It also ra

ises the question, do you like Prologues? After reading this one, you may be convinced.

Chase Rider is back in Bakersville, to fix up his grandmother’s home that he inherited when she died, and to sell it. He works for Ethan Security in Los Angeles and he is determined to head back as soon as possible. Little does he know that grandma had other plans for him. Memories surround him, so it’s off to get some comfort food, and I agree, pizza is the best. That is why I love Cate Beauman’s stories so much. She hits all the buttons and make me feel as if I am walking through the pages WITH the characters.

He, literally, bumps into Julie. She is as beautiful as ever. They had been childhood friends and sweethearts. It has been ten years, ten long years, since they have seen each other. The attraction for both of them has never left, but will they admit it? No way. In fact, Chase is being quite the **** and I wish he’d get over himself. lol

I wondered when the past would meet the future, but I did’t see this. I am only at 18% and lapping up the words like a thirsty dog. I can hardly wait to see how the story unravels. Now, I need to keep myself from racing through the pages so fast I miss the mysterious journey along the way.

A simple trip to the grocery store changed everything for Julie. Oh man, now I won’t be able to quit until the last page is read. A sense of anticipation overwhelms me and I see how Chase, the handsome hunk from Ethan Security, will come in handy, his tools, his connections with the FBI…I am at 30% and I cannot imagine what the next 70% will hold.

The romance is back and forth, yeah, expected that, but it’s not too much. Enough to seem real but not so much to make the story lag. Good job Cate. But what about the mystery? Seems cut and dried, so where are you taking this?

UH OH! I am a very suspicious and mistrusting person and I hope Julie is too.

I am always trying to figure out the story before I learn it and love when twists and turns keep my head spinning and my fingers flipping pages. I know I’ve been thinking of the right motive the whole time, but who is the villain? OH NO! I just thought…NO…that can”t be right. Then who?

My eyes are so blurry I can hardly see the words. I have to take a break.

OK, now I get why Miranda did what she did.

Every time I think the end has to be around the corner, Cate Beauman throws more mystery and danger at me. I love how she twists and turn me in the direction she wants me to go and I eagerly follow. I have a few suspects left…

Heartache, smiles, romance, love, mystery and danger. All the elements that make a perfect romantic suspense thriller, plus, putting this over the top!

I purchased Answer For Julie by Cate Beauman from Amazon back in October of 2016. I would have read it sooner had I known what I was missing.

MY REVIEW

Hardened Hearts is a collection of short stories that is gross, lovely, sad, scary, terrifying, evil and all that is in between. The characters hearts will be laid bare, some  you can literally  see. Are you afraid yet? Some of the horror can be  in told a few pages, some will take longer, but all of them are sure to entertain you. I give the collection four stars, but have also included a one sentence review for each story.

MY REVIEW

I think the title for Walk With Me by Debra Schoenberger speaks for itself, photographs taken on the fly. Expensive cameras are not required to save the moment for future enjoyment. I think most of us have a trusty cellphone with us.

I have been shooting photography for a long time and my camera has been with me longer than my Kindle, though both are now ‘a must have on me all the time’ companion.

I’m sure there is a photograph in Walk With Me that will make you smile, maybe create a frown, or provoke some heavy thinking.

Have You Ever Been…Jinxed by Donna Augustine @donnaugustine

Jinxed (Karma) (Volume 2) - Donna Augustine

The covers for the Karma series are FABULOUS.

Would you choose a book for that reason alone?

Amazon  /  Audible  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

First thing, I would recommend reading the Karma series in order. I started Jinxed some time after reading Karma and it took me a while to refresh my memory of where I left off. After that, though, the book took off and Karma is leading me down a twisted and dangerous path.

Karma has an attitude and it gets her in a lot of trouble. She is stubborn, mule headed, independent and determined to do it herself. She is snarky with a big chip on her shoulder. God help those who cross her when it is time to pay the piper.

The characters straddle the world between the living and the dead. That doesn’t mean they don’t like hot sex and good food. Can you kill a dead person? Do you believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy? How about Murphy, Lady Luck, Fate? Kitty has her black cats, except for one, Smoke, who is gray now that he’s retired. Jockey has his Night Mares, which Karma will be one of the few to meet, other than us, the readers. Mother Nature, you really don’t want to piss her off.

Paddy plays an important, but somewhat, cameo role. He thinks Karma could be the one to save them and time is running out for him.

The Guardians of the doors, that allow for transport between the worlds, don’t have many friends, but Karma is one of them. She found their sweet spot and it will pay off in her times of need.

I love how everyone runs from Cupid when they see him coming. LOL Don’t want him messing with your love life…or do you?

Everything she went through as a transfer, all the confusion, Karma felt they needed a manual to make it easier for everyone. After all, humans have job description, don’t they?

Seeing Jinxed is the second book in the series, I don’t want to tell you too much, but I laughed, cringed, and raced my way through it.

Do you believe? Is there more to life and death than meets the eye? Do you want there to be more? Which role would you want to play in the world of transfers? There will be a job available, because they do retire.

The Karma series has captured me and transferred me to a place where I can have one foot in the our world and one foot in theirs.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Jinxed by Donna Augustine.

Mistaken Identity – One Taste of You by Amanda Siegrist @amanda_siegrist

One Taste of You (A One Taste Novel Book 1) - Amanda Siegrist

Do you have any plans for the summer? Need some great romantic mysteries for your summer beach reading season? Look no further than Amanda Siegrist’s One Taste series. Some hot lovin’ and hunkalicious men will have you heating up, even on a cloudy day.

One Taste of You

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

A love story we are all familiar with, but Amanda Siegrist throws in a little twist in One Taste of You. Boy dumps girl. Don’t get mad, party. And that’s what Zoe does, meeting her besties for a night out on the town. In walks…

Zeke. He is a homicide detective, who has been recruited to work under cover to bust a pimp. Uh Oh. I think I know where this is going and I think it is going to be a fun ride..

One Taste…that’s all he wants.

Hot and steamy sexual situations.  It’s insta lust all right. And boy did Zeke ever blow a good thing. He is haunted by his actions and can’t get her out of his mind.

A murder brings them back together. Can he win over a hurt and angry Zoe?

A trio of ladies, some hunkalicious cop. I can see where this series is going and I am happy to be along for the ride.

I love the dialogue and verbal bantering between Zeke and Ben. And Zoe, Rina and Dee. I love all the characters, and I didn’t see the ‘final’ danger until it came knocking.

One Taste of Love by Amanda Siegrist is a fun, easy reading romance, with a mystery and murder on the side. Not quite as intense as her other romantic suspense series I read, but great for your summer reading list.

The romance is the entree and the mystery is the salad. Amanda has me so invested in the characters, I feel I must continue reading the next book…and the next book…and I did.

Unputdownable! – In The Dark by Chris Patchell @chris_patchell

In the Dark - Chris Patchell

In the Dark

Amazon Audible  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

In The Dark by Chris Patchell starts out with terror and a sense of wrongness from the opening pages, but I was hooked by the fabulous cover. I love stories that are filled with suspense and the pacing of In The Dark kept me racing through the pages. Unputdownable!

The story is familiar and I love that Chris Patchell is not afraid of killing off characters right and left, making me wonder who will be left standing. The killer is exposed early, but that did nothing to prepare me for the twists and turns, the horrific story of a villain running AMOK, driven, haunted by his past.

Even knowing the shit is coming and to say it’s going to hit the fan doesn’t lessen the gut punch, shock and horror of the evil men do to one another.

Warning:  Begin early in the morning to avoid the dark shadows and give yourself time to finish. I feel once you get into the gritty, you won’t be able to quit!

I won In The Dark by Chris Patchell and the rest is history. She is on my radar and has become a must read author for me.

Big Bad Wolf – Despite The Fangs by Dylan Newton #DylanNewton

Despite the Fangs - Dylan Newton

I love the cool blue colored cover for Despite The Fangs by Dylan Newton. The coolness depicts the location, the Adirondack Mountains and it’s done in a way that all the elements mesh together without being too busy. Great job Rae Monet Inc Design.

MY REVIEW

I found Dylan Newton by winning one of her books in a giveaway, Any Witch Way. I loved it so much, that when I was given a chance to read Despite The Fangs, I was gung ho. And…

Aribella Lupari is the Alpha of the Lypari wolfpack.

Ari has become a stalker werewolf. It’s not her fault. It was all an accident. It was love at first smell, when she and her brother were out on a rescue mission in the Adirondacks

No time for a snack of rabbit tar tar. I love the light, humorous writing.

She IS Tracker Inc. Need someone found? Missing hikers, no problem. Villains, the best. Children were the most difficult cases. When the opportunity comes up to rescue a kidnapped child that would net them what they need to allow them to take their company global, thus enabling them to combine werewolves across the world under an umbrella of independence, how could she turn it down. Until…

He walks in. The sexual tension was flaming hot before they even met face to face. They both deny the attraction, and when it comes to the paranormal, I find it easier to accept the instalove. Once they surrender to their urges I feel like I can sit back, relax, and get to the crux of the story and I am really curious to find out the what of Mason. I love the fabulous twist, that I wasn’t expecting, and you will need to read the book to know more. It’s so good, I refuse to spoil it for you.

Different from the usual paranormal, supernatural werewolf stories I read. I am always on the lookout for something different, something a little more…This rrrrighteously wonderful surprise made me stay up until three in the morning, because I had to get to the action packed, riveting, heart pounding ending.

Despite The Fangs is not my first Dylan Newton story and it will not be my last. She has a way of taking the run of the mill story and flipping it upside down and inside out, with her excellent writing that will surprise and delight.

“Anyway, I’ve got to go. Thanks so much. I…enjoyed my time with you. Bear mauling, and tranquilizer gun aside, it’s rare to find a guy that’ll accept me. Ask the three little pigs. Or the brat with the red riding cape.”
